Struggling to capture great photos with your digital SLR? Join us for a fun, informative workshop designed for busy moms (or dads! or anyone!) who want to take creative control of their personal photography! We will unlock the mystery of manual settings, finding great light and capturing your child’s personality without begging them to pose. Classes are held in a relaxed, group environment in our private studio. Refreshments, hors d’oeuvres and know-how will be served!
101 Topics: Understanding 3 Main Controls for Exposure, Basic Camera Functions, Finding Great Light, Intro to Lenses, Tips for Photographing Children, Model Shoot. $199
201 Topics: 101 Refresher, Mastering Flash, Deeper Camera Functions, Indoor Lighting, Nighttime Shooting, Intro to Digital Workflow, Model Shoot. $199
301 Topics: 101/201 Brief Refresher, Culling/Image Selection in Lightroom, Editing in Lightroom, Retouching in PhotoShop and Digital Workflow. 301 will require a laptop (preferably a Mac) with the current version of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom. $225
One-On-One Individual Instruction: $275 Two hours of private, personalized instruction with Ashley at our studio.

Hands-On individual Instruction • Bring Your Own (Digital) Camera Easy-to-Understand Guidance • Real Shooting Practice • Take-home Guide • Small Group Environment • 3 Days from 10am-3pm
Our Summer Photo Workshop for Teens is a FUN, ACTIVE event! We keep the group relatively small to ensure personal guidance. Ashley guides students with hands-on instruction and leads creative shooting practice on-site. Less complicated details, MORE easy-to-grasp technique! Each participant will need a digital camera, memory card & notebook. All other materials will be provided, including workshop notes. Refreshments will also be provided & students should bring their own lunch. This workshop is intended for middle/high school students who have a REAL desire to learn or expand their photography skills!
The Barn on Birmingham (aka Raisin’s Ranch) has a large, beautiful barn with A/C that is perfect for workshops…complete restrooms and a kitchen with plenty of space for learning & practicing. Most instruction will be indoors in the A/C but we will be practicing outdoors as well with the friendly animals on the farm (animal waiver must be signed by parents).
This workshop will cover the following topics:
